RISE Couples
Healing for IDF Veterans & Families
Restoring safety, belonging, and hope.
Israel’s Mental Health Crisis
Despite their sacrifices, Israel’s reservists and their families face a broken system:
Reservists receive inconsistent mental health care, often without seeing the same therapist twice.
Wives receive no structured support. Couples are left without resources to heal together.
The Orot Healing Approach
Led by Dr. Leetal Caidar Benzvi, an expert in combat-related trauma and developer of an evidence-based therapeutic model integrating individual, couples, and trauma-focused treatment,
Orot Healing offers clinical depth and personal understanding—Dr. Benzvi herself is the wife of a Duvdevan veteran.

Program Structure
- Intensive therapy and workshops in Israel with top trauma specialists
- A 10-day therapeutic retreat away from daily stressors and triggers
- A full year of individual & couples therapy, peer groups, and workshops
When the War Comes Home
He fights for Israel. She fights for their family.
Orot Healing helps them recover—together.
While men serve on the front lines, their partners carry the emotional and practical burden at home. When soldiers return, invisible wounds often remain—distancing couples and destabilizing families.
When families break down, the cost isn’t just personal—it’s national.
Research & Collaboration
Participants join a tight-knit cohort that heals together.
The program collaborates with Dr. Joshua Smyth, a leading trauma researcher at Ohio State University, to ensure measurable, scalable results.
Impact
Orot Healing is volunteer-led, ensuring every dollar directly supports programming.
Recognized internationally in 2024 for its work with Nova Festival survivors.
